The House always wins?- 2005-06-09
A croupier who ran off with ₤75,000 in stolen money from a West Midlands casino, was later arrested in a crowded inner city train by British police officers.
This entire incident took place at Stanley’s Star City Casino in Birmingham, when Dudille Nkabinde, a 34 years old South African working as a croupier for then 18 months held up co-workers at gun point during a count of previous nights’ winnings in a secure room.
Upon having locked and forced all employees into a vault, the man proceeded to leave the vicinity of the casino with ₤75,890 in stolen cash on hand. All victims, none of which had suffered any kind of physical pain, were later released half an hour after the initial unpleasant confrontation.
In the couple of days following the heist, Nkabinde made his way to the north, stopping along the way in cities like London to frivolously spend his loot before finally being caught by security officers on a train at Euston Station.
Later held for questions, the man pleaded guilty to charges of robbery and theft with the possession of a firearm. Moreover, the defendant also confessed that his actions were the result of having to clear out a loan shark in his home country, and that the majority of the money (₤53,000) had been taken away by two women the suspect had met in a nightclub.
The Jr. Guru wishes to let his readers know that even if it is often hard to beat the dealer, it is still possible to rob the house with a winning hand.
